CyWay Cycle Network - Bike Rotorua #RideWithUs

CyWay Projects

The objective of the Cyway project is to make cycling as safe and easy as possible for people who want to give cycling a go. Rotorua will eventually have a city-wide network which will connect suburbs and main arterial routes to the city and major tourist attractions such as the Whakarewarewa Forest / Redwoods. More people riding bikes will reduce gas emissions and lessen the impact on our roading infrastructure. The economic benefits are not limited to the cyclists themselves. Having outstanding cycling networks promote Rotorua's tourism offering and promote our city as an attractive lifestyle option for people considering moving here to work and play.

Above are links to the eleven cycling routes which were formalised for the three year funding round (2015-2018). Most links have been completed, completed links can be found under the 'completed projects' header.

Note that the cycling facilities on Te Ngae Road will form part of the NZ Transport Agency's 'Connect Rotorua' project, as it is a State Highway.
