The objective of the Cyway project is to make cycling as safe and easy as possible for people who want to give cycling a go. Rotorua will eventually have a city-wide network which will connect suburbs and main arterial routes to the CBD, some major tourist attractions and to the Whakarewarewa Forest / Redwoods. More people riding bikes will reduce gas emissions and lessen the impact on our roading infrastructure. The economic benefits are not limited to the cyclists themselves. Having outstanding cycling networks add to Rotorua's tourism offering and promote our city as an attractive lifestyle option for people considering moving here to work or do business.
Above are links to the eleven proposed cycling routes which will form part of the Rotorua CyWay Network.

Note that the cycling facilities on Te Ngae Road will form part of a project to be undertaken by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) as it is a State Highway.
